The honest part
It creeps up quietly. One year you could carry the shopping in one trip, climb the stairs without thinking, get up from the floor without planning it first. Then somewhere along the way it got harder — and you started working around it rather than through it.
The stiffness in the mornings. The aches that settle in and stay. The niggle in a knee or a shoulder that makes you cautious about everything.
"I kept meaning to start. But every gym I looked at felt like it wasn't built for someone like me."
None of this is a failing. It's what happens when nobody shows you how to begin properly — at your pace, with someone actually watching out for you.
Muscle mass can decline per decade after 30 — quietly, without you noticing, until the things that used to be easy no longer are.
More muscle means a more efficient metabolism. That persistent low-level fatigue starts to lift — often within weeks.
Stronger legs, steadier core, better balance. The difference between catching yourself and having a fall.
Carrying shopping, rising from a chair, lifting a grandchild — strength is what keeps daily life yours to manage.
What to expect
Every 60-minute session follows the same structured format — designed so you know exactly what's coming and can focus on doing it well.
Example workout:
Gentle joint mobility and activation work to prepare your body. Modified for each person's needs.
exercises focused on your individual programme — lower body, upper body, or full body depending on the day. Load and reps adjusted for you.
Balance, coordination and real-life movement patterns — standing up from low chairs, stepping, carrying.
Breathing, light stretching and a quick check-in with your physiotherapist. How are you feeling? What needs adjusting?
Summer 2026

The process
From your first conversation to your first class — here's exactly what to expect.
A relaxed 30-minute chat to ask questions and get a feel for whether Strength Club is right for you. No pressure, no commitment required.
Before joining a class you'll complete three private PT sessions. These include a full movement assessment and your IP-Score — a personal baseline that tells us exactly where you're starting from — plus hands-on practice of every movement you'll use in class, so your first group session feels familiar, not daunting.
You join a small group of up to 4 people and start your Strength Club membership. Every session is physio-led — you're always supervised, always progressing at the right pace for your body.
We measure how far you've come every 6-12 weeks and adjust as you grow stronger — so progress keeps coming and stays safe.
Is this for you?
People chasing a quick six-week transformation. We're not a bootcamp and we won't promise crash results. What we offer is lasting, safe progress built one steady step at a time — and we'd rather tell you that honestly now.

Common questions
No. Genuinely — no. Most people who come to us haven't exercised in years, and that's exactly who this is designed for. We meet you where you are and build from there.
You're very welcome. Appropriate strength training is one of the most effective ways to manage arthritis and ease joint pain. Your physiotherapist will tailor every movement around your joints.
That's the norm here, not the exception. Your three one-to-one onboarding sessions exist so you learn every movement properly before you ever train in a group.
A relaxed 30-minute conversation with a physiotherapist. We listen to what's been holding you back, answer your questions honestly. No workout, no obligation to join.
Often, yes — training around an injury safely is exactly what Chartered Physiotherapists are trained for. We'll assess it carefully and adapt your programme.
Yes. Once you've completed your three onboarding sessions you can join any class. We'll make sure you're ready before your first group session.
